Robertson provided construction management at risk services for the Perry County Job and Family Services new Opportunity Center. The Perry County Opportunity Center is home to careers, jobs and workforce development opportunities provided by Perry County Job and Family Services, Hocking Athens Perry Community Action Program and state government on-stop partners. It will centralize many family and community support programs throughout the county. The Opportunity Center is a modern, innovative, open-plan facility that will host public events and career development expositions.
The Licking County Courthouse is a national historic landmark built in 1876. The initial phase of the two-phase restoration project consisted of replacing the cornice and integral gutter system beneath the mansard roof, restoring the condition of the tower envelope, replacing the existing roofing system and installing a new elevator serving all five levels of Courthouse. The second phase of the restoration replaced all exterior windows with custom-built wood windows.
Robertson was hired to manage the renovation and expansion of the existing Westerville Community Center. The new center provides a variety of flexible, multi-use space to provide a “special” user experience and offers massage and physical therapy, acupuncture, adventure recreation, nutritional and culinary programs. To accommodate the new programs and amenities, we constructed three separate additions to existing facility and provided an additional 249 parking stalls for guest parking.
Robertson served as the Single Prime General Contractor on the Everett Skate Park in Newark, Ohio. The Skate Park offers modern features such as a half-pipe, quarter-pipe, two bowls with pool copings, rails, spines and vertical ramps. It is now one of the largest skate parks in central Ohio and with a community garden, picnic pavilion and playground, it has become a community destination.
The Village of Granville engaged Robertson to construct its New Service Complex. Visibility of the Complex was a primary consideration in the overall design and orientation of the site. Equipped with drive-thru maintenance bays, heated vehicle and equipment storage, a mechanic’s shop and office space, the New Service Center will meet the growing needs of the community.
I have been around a lot of contractors, and I would say that Robertson Construction does high quality work. It shows throughout Licking County and surrounding Ohio.
As the Construction Manager at Risk, Robertson managed the multi-phase expansion of the Licking County Humane Society. The new shelter offers kennels and puppy pens, grooming areas, offices and exam rooms, laboratory and clinical space and a surgery and vaccination clinic.
The Logan-Hocking Public Library expansion and renovation project featured an 8,000 square foot expansion to the existing library along with a complete renovation of the existing facility. The steel frame structure supported a composite wall system consisting cold-formed metal framing and cement-fiber panels and an asphalt shingle roof on ventilated, nailable insulation.
As the General Trades Contractor, Robertson performed admirably. They receive no small credit for helping to ensure that the building was not only delivered on budget and on schedule, but also certified LEED Platinum, a rare achievement given the modest construction budget.
The New Dayton Metropolitan Library is a unique structure with features such as exterior tensioned fabric canopies, luminated stretch fabric ceilings within the interior common area and an open marketplace setting throughout the facility which is accentuated by natural daylight. The project achieved LEED Gold certification by the United States Green Building Council.
The Dayton Metro Library West Branch was designed to respond to the residents’ desire for the building to be a beacon in the community. The two soaring rooflines signify two branches coming together and are a nod to the history of flight at the neighboring original Wright Airplane Factory.
The Newark Rotary Club Accessibility Playground is the only handicap accessible park in the state of Ohio. The 15,000 square foot playground was a collaboration of Robertson’s workforce and donated materials from Rotarians and local businesses throughout the greater Newark region.
Robertson was engaged by the Thomas J. Evans Foundation as the Single Prime General Contractor on the Canal Market Plaza project. The Plaza consisted of new gazebos and restrooms across from renovated Pennsylvania Railroad Station, improvements to the adjacent Second Street Parking Garage, burial of overhead power lines and a brick walkway from the Licking County Courthouse through the market to the Pennsylvania Railroad Station on Walnut Street.
The Knox County Courthouse is a historic building located on High Street in Mount Vernon, Ohio. It was built in 1855 in the Greek Revival style of architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The Annex will be used for common pleas and juvenile/probate court hearings and proceedings. We modernized the space and beatified the facility with a new roof, windows, doors and ornate finish carpentry throughout the courtrooms.
It’s a beautiful space and an excellent use of the building. We tried to incorporate the look of the courthouse into the interior design.
